This one of a kind kiln-formed (fused) glass platter boasts a strong geometric design of transparent deep aqua, cherry red and opaque amazon green and marigold yellow glasses with reactive silver elements.  The silver foil, when heated, reacts with the elements in some colors of glass containing sulphur (yellows and reds) but not with copper elements in the blue and green glasses.  The reaction creates a delicate halo where the silver and glass meet.  This 15″ diameter platter is 3/8″ thick and is sturdy and strong.  It should be handwashed to prevent scratching and is not for use in oven or microwave.
